We Alone on Earth" is taken from the last phrase of chapter 11 of Richard Dawkin's "The Selfish Gene".

We are a group of twenty-somethings speculating about the future while trying to get our philosophical heads on straight. Most of us spent a lot of time hanging around Dabney House at Caltech. Some of us actually graduated. Now we're graduate students scattered across the country, using this platform to stay in touch and broadcast our ideas.

We do philosophical speculation, political commentary, science-fiction reviews, and the occasional serious electronics project.

While not primarily a transhumanist blog, WeAlone believes in the freedom to change one's body and mind. We have always used tools to aid us, now we can use tools to improve us. Moreover, the challenges of the future will require people who are smarter, more creative, and more empathetic.
